PADANG BESAR: More than 20 graves believed to contain the remains of human trafficking victims were found at an illegal detention camp at the Wang Burma hill near Wang Kelian here recently.
The graves are located about 5km from the abandoned detention camps and graves which were discovered previously.
A police source said the graves were discovered by a team of VAT69 commandos on Aug 12.
The source however did not state whether the discovery of the graves was part of Op Wawasan which was conducted previously around the location.
“We have so far discovered over 20 graves at Wang Burma hill.
“However, we are unable to provide the number of the bodies in the graves yet or when the bodies will be brought out of the location,” he said, declining to comment further on the matter.
